                  Race 3 Cadwell Park Sunday

Slightly cooler this Sunday for the last race-day of the year and a fair few hangovers evident in the paddock. Even with most championships settled the racing is still as serious as ever. The autos take a turn to be front of grid today with the geared bikes starting 30 seconds later. Keith Terry immediately takes the lead with Scott Chapman and Damon Tunnicliffe all within a bike’s length going into the first bend as they disappeared from view. As they reappeared at Mansfield Chapman was missing from the group, a sheared crank putting his “safe” championship in jeopardy.  An extremely close battle followed between Damon and Keith Terry, with mixed fortunes Damon coming to grief on Lap 4, thankfully unharmed and Keith retaking the lap record for group 6a from Scott Chapman by 6 hundredths of a second! Damon’s tumble allowing a first place for Danny Rudd in group 10, followed by Tim Wilson & Craig Bewey. 6a placines going to Alex Vandyke (2nd) in his first weekend on the PSN Skipper special and Kieran Guinan 3rd. No change at the front of the geared race Charlie Edmunds pursuing Guy Topper for the duration. Both on top of their game and lapping in under 2 minutes. Doug Turner taking 2nd in group 6 ahead of AF Rayspeed’s Steve Wright. A nasty off at the gooseneck cost John Balcomb  who was running at the front on Saturday not only his race but a broken collarbone. James Campen taking 2nd place in group 4 ahead of Chris Geyton in 3rd.

                  Race 2 Cadwell Park Saturday

Race 2 enjoyed the best of the Autumn sun, the geared classes seeing Guy Topper take the lead early on lap 1, Charlie Edmunds remaining in closer touch this time for the whole of the session. Lap times across the field generally a little faster aside from Guy’s new record. Notably, Damon Tunnicliffe of Neathspeed recording a second record breaking time for a Zip, and for the first time breaking the two minute barrier on the full circuit at 1:59.98. He pulled this off on the final lap after an epic battle with Keith Terry who showed no sign of throwing the towel in for the championship yet. However, with just two races remaining it would seem that Bewey and Chapman requiring just one more finish, each have one hand on their trophies already, Craig Bewey coming in 3rd behind Tim Wilson and Scott Chapman taking 2nd place in group 6a ahead of Alex VanDyke.

Doug Turner put in another solid performance to take 2nd place in group 6 ahead of Steve Wright. James Campen and Tony Rudd ensuring a perfect top three for Performance Tuning in group 4. A great performance to mark Charlie’s last race weekend for the foreseeable future.

4 non finishers out of 31 starters Jon Uffindell, Stuart Day, Dylan Weston and Phil Bevis. Happily, as in race one, none due to accidents.

As the sun begins to set on day one everyone is talking about Chris Geyton

                  Race 1 Cadwell Park Saturday

Guy Topper, stormed to first place in race from 13th on the grid setting a new lap record for scooters in the process. The time of 1:56.85 for the full circuit proved he'd completely recovered from the crash at Mallory Park which cost him the last race and resulted in him starting behind all the finishers from the last round.
Charlie Edmonds secured another text book victory for Performance Tuning leading group 4 from the front followed by an on form Tony Rudd in second place and John Balcomb.
Front runners in both Auto championships PSN's Craig Bewey and Scott Chapman appear to have their focus on finishes to secure their group championships and were avoiding getting tangled up in incidents that would cost them overall 1st place in their 2011 groups, enabling ecstatic veteran Keith Terry to take an easy 1st win of his season over Scott in 6a and Damon Tunnicliffe another win in group 10 and a group 10 lap record. Chapman and Bewey settling for 2nd place with 3rd place honours going toChris Cook in gp10 and Alex VanDyke in 6a.
A great start to the weekend with conditions remaining windy and dry so far...

Fantastic news!, After Phil Bevis' horrific crash at the beginning of the season he's recovered enough to return to the track for the last meeting of the year. It was a nasty injury and we understand a slow recovery but all competitors will be delighted to see the oldest competitor in the series back on the track.

Current Overall and Group 4 champion, Charlie Edmonds is poised to hold onto the number 1 plate for an incredible 6th year.
He enters the Cadwell Park final round leading second place man Chris Geyton (SRP) by 132 points. Innovation and hard work have paid off for Charlie over the past half decade. However, rumours over the racing "garden fence" are that he may be taking a break next year. Perhaps after 6 years of number 1, half a dozen of the others will have a chance!
