BSSO AGM & Dinner Dance 2007/8

Annual General Meeting and awards dinner

The 2008 AGM and awards dinner dance will be held on Saturday 19 January 2008 at the usual venue of the Renaissance Hotel, Carter Lane East, South Normanton, Derbyshire (just off junction 28 of the M1).

The AGM will commence 1pm and usually lasts about 3 hours. All full members are entitled to vote at the meeting and guests are always welcome to observe.

The awards dinner dance commences at 6.30pm for 7pm and will continue until around 1am. Everyone is encouraged to come along with their families and friends.

Entertainment this year is being provided by our very own Tim Simpson, so we can be assured of a proper scooterist ‘do’.

Dinner tickets cost £30 for adults and £17 for children under 16. Please send a cheque, made payable to the ‘BSSO’, to Geoff Mason, Overners’ Anchor, 21 Albert Street, Cowes, Isle of Wight, PO31 7ND. Don’t forget to include a note of the names of the guests attending, those who are under 16 and whether any special diets are required (vegetarian, vegan, coeliac, etc). I will also need a return address so that I can send the tickets to you. All ticket requests should be with me by 5 January 2008 at the latest.

Hotel accommodation is available at the venue. Members wishing to book should call the booking line on 01773 812000 and quote reference ‘BSO’. The hotel, as usual, is offering special B&B rates held at the same level as last year (£35 per person per night for two sharing a double room and £45 per person per night for a single room). A specific number of rooms have been put aside for us and this will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so get booking!

Free dinner tickets

As we did last year we will once again offer free tickets to our members for the forthcoming
Annual Awards Dinner. (One free ticket per full member).

To qualify for this fantastic offer members will need to have competed at eight of the events that
we held this year. Unfortunately, if you don’t meet this criteria you will have to purchase your
ticket in the normal way. Please still apply to me for a ticket even if you are not buying extras.

Sponsors will be sent their tickets in the normal way nearer to the dinner date. Don’t forget, we are always happy to welcome new sponsors and sponsorship packages range from £100 upto £1,000.
