ACU Race Licence information
If you are a new competitor or have not raced for the previous three years you are required to take an ACU one day training course and theory test and provide documentary evidence that you can ride a motorcycle (ie driving licence). Once the course has been completed to the satisfaction of the ACU they will then issue a race licence. It is also important that you join the BSSO prior to applying to go on the ACU course. Print your BSSO inquiry form at this site and send to the BSSO at the number given on the form. This will prevent delays in the issuing of your ACU race licence, once you have completed the ACU course.
The ACU costs involved are as follows :-
£50 for the one day course and test
£43 for a racing licence
and whatever your local optician charges for your eye test.
The only extra cost is your BSSO membership at £10.
All applications for the course and licence have to go through the ACU either via the ACU website or by telephone 01788 566400. The course runs every Monday at ACU headquarters, Wood Street, Rugby, Warwickshire from 11am to 3pm.
